Why Is the Djibouti e-Visa Issued?
The Djibouti e-Visa is issued to citizens of multiple countries who wish to visit Djibouti to visit family and friends, for sightseeing, for business activities, or for medical treatment. You cannot apply for an e-Visa if you plan to work or study; in this case, you must apply for the relevant visa. Additionally, the e-Visa does not offer permanent residence.

How to Apply for a Djibouti e-Visa?
The application process for a Djibouti e-Visa is as follows:
- Complete the online application form on the Djibouti official e-Visa website. You must enter all your personal details as they appear on your passport/identification document. Write down your travel details and your email address. Make sure your email address is correct, as it will be used to deliver your visa.
- Attach the relevant documents. Once you have completed the initial part of your application form, you will be required to attach electronic copies of the necessary documents. The size of each file must not be larger than 1MB.
- Make the e-Visa fee payment. You must pay the visa fee online with a Mastercard, Visa, or American Express card. You cannot move forward with your application unless you pay the fee.
- Receive the visa. After your visa has been successfully processed and has been approved, you will receive it in your email. You do not need to visit the embassy to collect it. Download the visa and print it out right away.
How Will I Receive My Djibouti e-Visa?
As the entire application process is online, you do not need to visit the embassy to collect your visa. You will receive your Djibouti e-Visa electronically at the same email address that you have provided in your application.
Do I Have to Print Out the Djibouti e-Visa When I Travel?
Yes, you do. You must print out your Djibouti e-Visa as soon as you receive it. This is because you will need to present it at the port of entry together with your passport.
What Documents Do I Need for a Djibouti e-Visa?
In order to apply for a Djibouti Visa, you must collect the following documents:
- Photocopy of the passport. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months before your intended departure.
- Valid ID photo.The ID photo must be in JPG or PNG format.
- Air ticket. You must show proof of your return ticket. You will be required to provide a photocopy of the plane ticket or reservation confirmation.
- Hotel reservation. You must show a detailed hotel reservation, e.g., where you will stay while in the country, etc.
- Invitation letter. If you are going to visit friends or family in Djibouti, you must include a letter of invitation along with the host’s contact information. Include the purpose and duration of the visit, confirmation of the place where you will stay, signature, and date. Lastly, you must attach the host’s Djibouti passport and Djibouti ID card.
The size of each file must not exceed 1MB. Ensure that the information you enter in the application form is identical to the information in your travel document. Otherwise, your eVisa will not be accepted/valid.
How Much Does the Djibouti e-Visa Cost?
It depends on which visa you apply for and whether you wish to stay for 14 days or longer. Visa fees for Djibouti e-Visa are as follows:

15 – 90 days Djibouti e-Visa | $23 |
How Long Does the Djibouti e-Visa Take to Process?
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a decision on your visa within 2 to 4 business days.
How Long Is the Djibouti e-Visa Valid For?
The validity of the e-Visa is three months from the date your visa is issued. The maximum length you can stay in Djibouti must not exceed 90 days.
If you decide to stay longer than this, you must apply for a residence permit at the Directorate General of the Police.
